P R P, or platelet-rich plasma, is a treatment sometimes used to help with hair thinning. It begins with a small sample of your own blood, much like a routine blood draw. The sample is placed in a spinning device called a centrifuge, which separates the blood into layers. One of those layers is plasma that is rich in platelets. Platelets carry growth factors, the signals the body uses in healing. That platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the scalp, in the areas where the hair is thinning. The idea is that the concentrated growth factors may support the existing follicles and encourage them to produce healthier hair. It is worth being clear about the evidence. Research is still developing, results vary from person to person, and treatment protocols are not yet standardised. For that reason, it is usually offered as an addition to other treatments, not as a replacement for them, and not as a guaranteed result. It is typically given as a course of sessions, with maintenance treatments over time. This video is for general education only. It is not medical advice. Ask your doctor what's right for you.
