Video Transcript

At a yearly checkup, your primary care doctor reviews your health from head to toe. Your blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and temperature are checked first. Your doctor then reviews your health history and the medicines you take. Next comes a physical exam, listening to your heart and lungs and checking your body. Based on your age and risks, your doctor may order screenings, like cholesterol or blood sugar. Finally, you get a plan, including any vaccines, follow-ups, or healthy-living tips. For questions about your own health, talk with your clinician.

This video is educational only and is not medical advice. Every patient is different — talk to your provider about your specific situation.
